A photographer with varied experiences, Shayak Raychaudhuri has been actively pursuing his interests – photography and writing - since he started his career in 2004, right after college. Starting out with various freelance assignments, his major break came in 2006 when he was given the responsibility of creating an image bank for a hugely popular online greeting cards company. This opportunity gave him tremendous confidence, exposure and organizational skills which would later help him in his career. His next career stop brought him deep into the world of cameras. First as a team member and later head of the technical office at Nikon India Pvt Ltd, Shayak had the opportunity to learn in-depth about digital cameras. He was on the other side this time, helping photographers understand their gear and solving their problems. The journey soon took another major turn when conducting workshops was added to his portfolio. After which he started conducting photography workshops at some of the most attractive locations across India. Today, Shayak is an entrepreneur, dividing his time as a photographer, photography trainer and writes regularly on photography related topics. He is continuously aiming to design each of his workshops as a unique learning experience for the participants. And, he continues to be a Nikon School mentor.
